The Question

When you wake  in the morning and open your eyes
Look in the mirror put on your disguise
What do you think of, whats there in your head
Do you ask yourself questions that have never been said

Do you ever think, What am I doing here?
Do you look into the papers and read about the fear
Do you analyse yourself, to see what drives you on
Do you look back on your life and wonder where its gone
Do you look at those around and everything thats dear
Do you ever ask the question, what am I doing here?

Spending everyday at work to pay the bills
Do you feel your missing out on life and all its thrills
An office full of faces, all looking for a way out
We all will spend a little on the lottery no doubt

Do you ever think, What am I doing here?
Do you look into the papers and read about the fear
Do you analyse yourself, to see what drives you on
Do you look back on your life and wonder where its gone
Do you look at those around and everything thats dear
Do you ever ask the question, what am I doing here?

Do you turn off all the news to hide all the bad news
A murder. rape or killing, and lots of peoples views
What lurks beneath the surface of every place you go
The simple answer is that no one really knows

Do you ever think, What am I doing here?
Do you look into the papers and read about the fear
Do you analyse yourself, to see what drives you on
Do you look back on your life and wonder where its gone
Do you look at those around and everything thats dear
Do you ever ask the question, what am I doing here?
